Keeping Archery Traditional Can Be Relaxing Yet Rewarding


Simply put, Archery involves the use of a bow and arrow. The bow is used to launch an arrow so that it hits the target accurately. In keeping Archery traditional, it needs to be known that battles which took place in the fourteenth and fifteenth century only used bows and arrows as their form of weapons.


It has been documented that traditional archers are generous, work hard and are down to earth. We even have tribes, in this modern day and age, that still use archery as their form of hunting. Archery can be divided into 3 major categories. They would be known as Primitive, Traditional and Modern Archery. There are many who admire this ancient sport and prefer to keep archery traditional


Traditional archery is known to be one of the oldest forms of Archery. The Longbow is conciderd to be one of the tradtional bows that were used by early man. There are even traditions held in certain parts of our world that bare significance to this earlier form of archery.


Let's look into why some archers prefer keeping archery traditional. Today one of the most used bows is the compound bow. Compound bows are very mechanical and some prefer to use a simpler bow when engaged in arrow launching. The archery traditional bows are easy to use without the complex features of today's modern bows. They are also said to be a lot more enjoyable to shoot from.


The recurve and longbow fall among the traditional line of bows and are more attractive to look at. You do however need to master using these bows to be able to aim accurately. Without understanding these bows it would bring you a bit of challange to overcome.


Using archery traditional bows has been known to be relaxing and more recreational. When using these bows it allows the archer to fire arrows more smoothly giving this historical form of archery more preference.


These bows can offer one an effective means of exercise when walking around, due to the fact that they can weigh over 50 pounds. Archery traditional bows and arrows are made of a high quality wood which makes handling them easier.


Regardless to these bows being heavy, they are still used by many archers today. It requires a higher level of understanding, dedication and practice to master traditional bows. The longbows that are made today have more stability and can reduce hand shock considerably.


Traditional Archery regained popularity in 1940 and continued again in the 60's. Archery Traditional bows will continue to surface more in the years to come because of their history, structure and ideal benefits. I have some archery arrows and was buying some nocks, and They wanted to know what the 4 digit code on my arrows was. What is the significance of those numbers?

Archery Arrows - how can I reconnect the nock?
I managed to break the plastic nocks off three aluminum arrows. Can someone tell me a cheap way to reconnect them? I'm thinking of using a strong glue but I can't imagine it'd last. thanks

Recurve 61" Since the day I bought my bow I've been using these stick-on arrow rests that came with it. Are they reliable or should I invest in a proper arrow rest?
