Thinking about starting bowhunting for deer/bear, any advice for a novice?
I work & live in northern MN, & started deer hunting after moving up here 2 years ago. I am planning on purchasing a decent hunting rifle this summer (been borrowing one from friends/family) but given the insane number of southern MN/city hunters that flock up here during firearms season, I am considering trying archery season next year.
I'm only 5'1", & have average upper body strength for a 27 yr old, & I'm just looking for a little advice from more seasoned archery hunters on potential bows & the necessary hunting equipment for archery.
I've got a portable stand, trail camera, & basic camo, so the main information I'm looking for is bow styles, costs, recommended bow for novice hunters, & what to expect from bowhunting (typical ranges for novice, types of arrows to use, amount of annual practice, & any recommended equipment that improves your hunt).
If you've got some pointers, I'd appreciate hearing them, thanks.
