Learn The Secrets Of Bow Hunting - Hit The Target!
Bow hunting can be a progressive challenge for anyone who likes to go rifle hunting. Bow hunting can make you feel much more accomplished as a hunter as you're using ancient technology. Not only that using a bow can also teach you some new skills that will help when you use your rifle again. You need certain skills to get anywhere near your target even if you hire a guide. Sudden movements or even just your scent can alert your prey to your presence and they're not going to stay around for a chat! This adds a little more excitement to the hunt.
You can be successful with your bow hunting if you learn a few basic secrets:
If you are using a deer stand, you need to space out the time you use it. The more often you're out there, the more the animals will get to know that you are there. They may even get to know your routine and avoid the area altogether. It's important to get more than one stand and switch between the ones that you use.
You will need to waterproof your arrow fletches for hunting in the rain. Using hairspray will work, but make sure that it's of the unscented variety. Use three or four light coats of hairspray on the fletches, make sure you allow each coat to fully dry before adding another coat.
You will need to try to mask any human scent possible. Perform this de-scenting before you get to the stand. You will need to observe which direction the wind is blowing in. Animals can easily pick up your scent from a long way away. You don't want the wind blowing the scent in their direction. If the stand you are using is not well suited to the wind direction, then go and get to another one. Remember, animals are designed to sniff out scents and use this as part of their early warning system. For more info see http://www.deerelkhunting.com/equipment/Bringing-Out-the-Big-Guns.html
When elk and deer are out of season, you can still practice all aspects of your bow hunting skills. When out of season you must also regularly maintain and check your equipment so that you're ready for the season to start.
Both elk, and deer have a habit of cramming that last bit of feeding in before the winter hits. This extra feeding will result in more activity than usual. Watch the weather carefully for any snow or rain storms, this would cause the temperature to change. Animals notice these changes in temperature and act accordingly. If a major storm is forecast then ideally you want to hunt before or after for better results.
Cold weather will make hunting with a bow more of a challenge, in winter your draw back will be much more difficult. You will need to drop the draw weight by a few pounds if you plan hunting in really cold temperatures.
You can have a really exciting time when you go bow hunting. It's a fantastic challenge and you can really learn some great secrets that you can't when hunting in any other way. Thousands of people all across the world are hooked on bow hunting, why not join them?

Alaskan Bear Gun Revolver?
Right now when I go hunting/backpacking I usually carry a Benelli Nova H20 as my primary bear gun but I am also looking for a sidearm to accompany it that can also stop an alaskan grizzly in very close proximity with very few rounds. I have been looking at the S&W super mag .460s and .500s with the 4-5" barrels as well as the taurus .500S&W and .454 Casull which is as small as a bullet as I would like to go. If you guys have any comments or suggestions for other revolvers that would be awesome.

Hunting Rifle Question?
Alright... Here's the crackdown: I'm 14 years old, and over this coming summer, I'm going to get a job so that next deer season, I can afford to buy myself my rifle, ammunition, and other various hunting gear? Can anyone tell me what kind of rifle would be good for deer hunting? I only like .270 rifles, and I would prefer it to have a wooden stock, and be very reliable/accurate. Price isn't too much of a factor, just as long as it doesn't take my dad's life insurance policy to afford it! Any help would be very appreciated. Also, what kind of cleaning kit would be the best and what kind of hunting backpack would hold a lot of my gear? Thanks... -Garrett

How come company managers never discuss their hobbies in the workplace?
Either that or they have very limited side interests and are virtual robots.
Conservatives often regard successful people as those who have achieved company goals or have done financially well.
Well I got news for you, those who met this benchmark do not seem to have time to think of anything but career career career, and then a few rounds of golf, and then visiting friends.
Lets compare that to a 20 year-old Liberal college kid's hobbies.
"Punk shows, wild road trips, protest marches, inventing new things, filming documentaries on youtube, soccer, wii, scavenger hunts, backpacking, Europe, late night pizza, slumber parties,
or for the introverts "scupltping, poetry, song-writing."
This is what bothers me about the real corporate world.
1) After you pass 3 years experience, your demands force you to compromise everything you do for your career, leaving nothing but golf and visiting friends.
2) If you try to be slick and keep your old hobbies, your oddness will run off onto what you do and by not fitting the corporate environment, you'll be laid off pretty quickly.
Why not change this by making hobbies important not just for kids?
work may not be the only factor. There's also marriage and raising children which alters lifestyle demands

Help with boyfriends xmas/bday gifts? 10 points to best answer!?
I've been dating my boyfriend for a little over 2 years now and have basically run out of clever present ideas for him. His birthday is right before christmas so I have to think of twice as many things to get him. He's 20 years old, is outdoorsy, loves to golf, hunt (archery & gun), fish, exercise, etc. I've already got him tons of clothes for everything he does, golf balls, hunting backpack, movies and anything i could think of. He doesn't need any golf clubs, archery or gun things for hunting, or anymore clothes. Anything thoughtful, clever, basically anything...
If you could give me ANY help, that would be greatly appreciated...10 points to the best answer!! Thank you!
